so you think if its hidden is not contributing so i should reveal it ?

The contents wanted/needed so i don't want to get rid of it just want to know if its contributing at all when hidden or if as John Mueller said its discounted, so it should be re-revealed to get the seo benefit of keywords in the copy and anchor text rich links within it to sub department and product pages ?

Anyone know latest thinking re 'hidden content' such as body copy behind a 'read more' type button/link in light of John Muellers comments toward end of last year (that they discount hidden copy etc) & follow up posts on Search Engine Round Table & Moz etc etc ?

Lots of people were testing it and finding such content was still being crawled & indexed so presumed not a big deal after all but if Google said they discount it surely we now want to reveal/unhide such body copy if it contains text important to the pages seo efforts.

Do you think it could be the case that G is still crawling & indexing such content BUT any contribution that copy may have had to the pages seo efforts is now lost if hidden. So to get its contribution to SEO back one needs to reveal it, have fully displayed ? OR no need to worry and can keep such copy behind a 'read more' button/link ?

I'm setting up individual campaigns on MA for a clients new regional/language focused sub sites and want to confirm/clarify correct set up before i proceed:

Client has set up Turkish language sub-site on sub-folder/directory: domain.com/tr/ & similar for German language pages domain.com/de/ (but /de/ is also domain mapped to a tld:  www.domain.com/de).

In MA campaign set up first page/form asks: 'What site do you want to track?' and then has an 'exclude sub-domains' checkbox option.  I take it that since, with this campaign, i just want to monitor only these Turkish pages i simply add domain.com/tr/ and then select the 'exclude sub-domains' checkbox so doesn't track any info relating to domain.com or www.domain.com or domain.com/de/ ? (Since domain.com/de/ is a sub-folder not a sub-domain how does MA know to avoid this data, because i have specificed domain.com/tr/ subfolder in the site field ?)

Re German pages: Since the domain.com/de/ has been domain mapped to www.domain.de i can just add this tld to the site field in set up page and can leave the 'exlude sub-domains' checkbox unchecked ?

Update - all sorted !! whilst i had all the above permissions apparently there was still a higher level of admin/user access my client has now given me so should all be cool

weird i have full access to this account, all boxes ticked read, analyse, collaborate etc etc but no add filter button showing. There is a button for all other options like add a goal, add a new content grouping etc etc but frustratingly none for filters

ive created a new view in GA for this client and called it 'Turkish' then clicked on 'filters' in this view but then only see a table with 'Rank' , 'Filter Type' & 'Filter Name' headers with no actual filter options as far as i can see. How do you actually add or specify a filter here ?

I clicked on the help button which popped up info including the below so sounds like im in correct place on the right track but doesnt say how to add this:

"If you have a need to segregate data, then creating separate views and filtering them for specific data is an easy solution. For example, you might have regional teams that need to see only data for their regions, or you may want to track different subdomains in separate views."

Also re terminology & GA I take it 'view' in GA is the new version of 'Profile' since within GA account settings the account hierarchy is:  Account > Property > View (no mention of profiles)

thing is MA only ever asks for a GA number or name so i cant see how it can but ill ask moz support

Is it possible to draw in that data into a specific Moz campaigh do you know ? Since i want to create individual campaigns in Moz for each sub-folder with the appropriate Google analytics data (the data relating to the local filter rather than total GA data) ?

ive got a client site just about to launch into 2 new territories (German Germany & Turkish Turkey)

The existing/main site is in English & targets English keyword usage globally via domain.com and is not geotargeted in anyway. Analytics is set up for this on domain.com and tracking accurately and GWT is set up too.

Now we have added a Turkish language site via a subfolder (domain.com/tr/) & the German site (domsain.com/de/) BUT this German subfolder will be domain mapped to a TLD (domain.de) eventually..

So what's best way to configure/set up Google Analytics to track users so can view the international sub-sites as individual sites etc ? (& GWT for that matter) ?

Also after doing this i will be setting up in Moz Anlytics as separate campaigns so how do you set up so only draws in the Analytics data specific to these sub-folders ?

Only thing is it just confirms that I should be able to add offer/ticket info yet schema creator plugin offers no such fields option for events but i have emailed Raven support rabout that & the fact that event data i have created so far is actually being displayed visually on the page too which seems strange

Hey Mick, makes good sense to do it that way so yes crazy if that has changed!!

My client scenario different in that three quarters of entire page of body copy (all well written & good quality) client wanted hidden behind a 'read more' button.  Whilst im sure this will always be seen/crawled & indexed (although poss not given some of the recent comments) i think given Muellers hangout response theres a very good chance the hidden text will be seriously devalued.

Do you think advisable for me to recommend client re-show all body copy, im thinking so ?

O.k so i fill in the description field to simply describe this instance of event schema, but should not expect that to be used in the actual rich snippet since G will fill that with content from the page ?

Also since the event in question is a paid course, where do i put price in Ravens schema creator since there is no price like field ? I see on some resources that prices/costs should be added to event schema via an 'offers' attribute but Ravens schema creator wp tool does not include an offers field within 'events'. Do i neen to create a separate 'offers' item/schema after i create and implement the events schema ?
