SEO before Replatforming - Good Idea?
Agree with both reponces. What is the imperative to have SEO done now? If you are in a seasonal retail business makes sence, but if you are not, what is the reason for this need now? Bruce

Reviews and Other Content in Tabs and SEO
Hi there, This isn't a problem, and is quite a common way of presenting content on the "same page" as far as the source code goes without having it all appear on page load. Where this would get you into trouble is if you are presenting a lot of content behind different tabs, or if that content was vastly different to the topic of the page that appears on page load. If you are using CSS to tab between the content, none of it is uncrawlable.

Drop Down Menus and Crawlability
"But if they are already in the html, would that be considered cloaking?" There are times when presenting something in HTML that is otherwise not visible, but having other features on the page that allow people to read / click / access that content in other ways, is fine. Linking is a tricky because links are so inherently valuable in terms of SEO. You don't can't really be too careful. I'd be wary of presenting links (a subset or full set) in HTML if there is a form process to actually arrive at the links' targets. Essentially you'll be linking to products X, Y and Z on a page, for search engines but requiring a specific input from a user to see X, Y or Z - an input that only very few overall visitors are actually likely to make. I would say this qualifies as showing different content for SEO's sake and not providing a UX alternative that is pretty much the same thing. Others may disagree with me on that - I'm being wary here I would very much like to see the HTML if you are still active in this thread when it is produced, but you may be left with a situation where the pages need to be linked to elsewhere throughout the site to ensure they are crawled.

404s in GWT - Not sure how they are being found
Kelli - the first thing I thought was what garfield_disliker asks: have you set up Google Webmaster Tools to ignore these parameters that are important for the cart page to load? That said, Google Webmaster Tools is run by a team that's separate from the primary search team, so it's possible that GWT is flagging an issue that isn't an actual issue for Google. Run a search in Google for "site:yourdomain.com/UpdateCart" and see what URLs Google has indexed. If they have that 404ing URL, that's not good. If they have correct URLs, it's possible that this is a Google Webmaster Tools thing.

Multi-Country Duplicate Content
Kelli (sorry, I had the wrong name somehow?) First let me clarify a few things. Is the content between the US, Canada, and UK the exact same but on different URLs? Is any of the content translated to cater to the different markets (spellings, word usage, etc.)? Does each country have the same product set, etc.? The HREFLANG is not necessary unless you are changing the language in some way. I am not sure that is what you should be using here. But your answers will help me understand so I can tell you what to do. Check out my tool here to help: http://www.katemorris.com/issg/

Links from Directories
The example directories you have given look pretty spammy to me. They all have the same design and look to have been made to make money rather than service a need. In the print world they would be the crap newspapers put through people's doors, left in supermarkets / shopping centres. My advice would be to try to avoid these. Look for directories that provide a benefit to users and look to have unique content i.e. specific to niche or region.
