Trailing Slash Problems
I know this is an old thread but just wondering if anyone ever found a solution in Squarespace, or did everyone just move over to Wordpress?

Damage Control
The more you can self-contain the links, the better. If "too many" of your links are outward bound, that can become confusing or annoying to site visitors. That also applies to search engines being able to figure out "what is this site about" and "why are so many links pointing to this other site". So always be mindful of that, while maintaining the functionality you need. It's a mess as you well know. Yet keeping the mess to a minimum is vital. Ultimately, whatever that linking structure, it will come down to how well optimized the external site is. And the more confused the link structure is, the more other tasks you'll need to do for SEO to compensate and keep the topical focus strong.

A couple of questions
Just to add to this.... I'm not sure why you are so concerned with PA and DA metrics. Whilst useful, you should not be getting to obsessed with influencing these metrics. Surely your overall goal should be to outrank your competitors in search engines rather than beating their PA and DA scores? Of course, with a successfully implemented SEO strategy you should find these will naturally improve along with your rankings. Concentrate more on your overall SEO strategy rather than trying to improve just your PA and DA.

Two Questions
I've asked squarespace for help and they basically said they wont alter any of the httaccess file for me, asked around in the squarespace community and they started saying that this was SEOmoz's crawlers which are completely different to Google and as long as two url's weren't showing up in Google (which they aren't...just two different PA's on the SEOmoz toolbar)...then to not worry about it. They said that Google is smart enough to decide between the two and that from now on I should just focus on one URL for link building. Feeling a bit deflated....maybe I shouldn't worry about it though. Wish squarespace wasn't so limiting on controls TBH. Christine

Squarespace Duplicate Content Issues
I'm having the same question - all these duplicate content issues on the Moz report and no idea what it means or how to fix them - if I have prior blogs in the "related links" column is that counting as duplicate content?
