When I search your site in Google it shows me 82 results against my query “site:domain.com” so it seems like Google is slowly crawling your site but you are right the rate of crawling pages is quite slow and to increase this here are few things that you should follow Strong Internal Linking It is important to have a strong internal linking between the pages if you want Google and other search engine to crawl your page. Please check if you have a strong and powerful internal linking between the pages Xml Sitemap The other thing that is missing on your site is xml sitemap. The idea is to add an xml sitemap and add it in Google webmaster tool and this will indicate Google to crawl different areas of your website with no hassle Hope this will help!

Hi Elissa, If you look at the source code for (as an example): http://www.finalduties.co.uk/probate/father-and-son-battle-over-13th-century-inheritance/ You will see a bit in the head like this (just under the rel=canonical): So you are giving a link to 2 versions of the same page in your code. The short tag is put in since wordpress 3 (maybe you recently updated wordress?). You can see 2 ways of removing this tag here: http://www.mydigitallife.info/how-to-disable-and-remove-shortlink-link-rel-hook-in-wordpress-header/ Hopefully that will help with the duplicate content / rel canonical issues in site explorer (I don't think I see any of these ?p= links in the google results for your site as of yet).

Yes its very hard for me because my site is probate, so not a very happy subject, Thanks everyone some very helpful info off you all. One thing thats curious is I am seeing sites that dont have any backlinks taking over me in the rankings for example http://www.purelyprobate.co.uk/ they have a site similar to ours and they have a page rank above ours (we lost rank after getting hit by the penguin update) they have no real linkage,mind boggling when everyone states that linking is the way to go. Hey, Okay, couple of things. It seems the SEOMoz crawler is picking up the WordPress shortlink. This is not really a problem and the two pages have the same canonical URL and both feature this exact piece of markup. So, these two pages: http://www.finalduties.co.uk/probate/mother-and-daughter-found-guilty-of-forging-will/ href='http://www.finalduties.co.uk/?p=1011 Both feature: Explained What we are seeing here is not duplicates but the seomoz crawler just not picking up the canonical for some reason so this is kind of misleading. I have seen this before though and will flag it with Dr. Pete as he fed back onto a previous discussion about this. So, you could ignore this. Or, you could remove the shortlink url for cleaner reporting. Either way, I would not worry about it too much! I added a line to your functions.php file that will remove the shortlink (and tested it). remove_action( 'wp_head', 'wp_shortlink_wp_head', 10, 0 ); I then commented this out with // so if you want to remove the shortlink to simplify the reporting then just remove the // from functions.php (or give me a shout). Hi Elissa It looks like you have 2 plug ins each producing a canonical tag on your Wordpress site, I will have a look at the plugins you have installed and report what I find. With a little luck we can get this issue resolved later today. Sean

Thank you for your response, I have had no warnings of Google at all, Which confuses me more, I havent done any of these back links there are 100's all pointing to low quality sites. Its crazy if i havent added these and google havent warned me then how can this be, My rankings have took a huge turn for the worst and my site www.finaldutis.co.uk isnt even ranking for the keywords Probate (we was on page 1 number 7) I have lost nearly all my good traffic keywords, I have cleaned the site taken out any old school seo. Made sure we have no duplicate content and still my rankings are being killed off one by one, I couldnt understand why?? When i looked into recent backlinks in webmasters I nearly chocked ! I havent added 90% of them, I use no link building software, NOTHING.. If i do links ther are manuel. If I have no warnings from Google then what do i do?? I am unsure if I have been hit can you please help, I have literally no traffic to my site now and I really dont know how i can go from 150 plus page 1 keywords long and short no nearly nothing.. I use no blak hat and even if the peguin hit me would it have removed the main keywords Probate completely leaving us behind sites that are not even probate related? Kind Regards Elissa Hayes

That would indeed fix the issue. Although i'd check your internal pages as well to make sure the plugin that is implementing the canonical tag on line 9 is doing it properly sitewide
