Www for main site and non www for integrated blog - is this a problem?
Hi Chammy, that is great that the blog is in the subfolder. Awesome. Now you need to decide whether to use the "www" or not for both the main site and blog. Either use www.mainsite.com with 301 redirect from non www version with www.mainsite.com/blog with 301 redirect from non www version OR mainsite.com with 301 redirect from www version and mainsite.com/blog with 301 redirect from www version. The reason that it is best practice to redirect from the subdomain www to the root (or vice versa) is to prevent duplicate content and prevent domain authority from being split between two sites, as the search engines view www.mainsite.com and mainsite.com and separate sites. So if you keep things the way they are, your blog will not be on the same site as the main site, and you will lose out on the benefits of building a single, strong site -- not to mention the internal linking headaches that you will have! So, to answer your questions: This is not okay. Yes, they should both be www or non www. And yes, you should worry ... but only if you don't do something.

301 from a defunct site due to great link profile
No problem. I think cleaning up the error's and redirecting traffic to where it should be going, is the first step in improving the user experience. If you manage to squeeze some 'juice' out of those outdated links, that's great!

How to decide on which site to 301 redirect
I wouldn't take this risk unless the much-better-brand-name-url.com is an exact match domain of a high volume keyword. The only other time I would recommend making this change is if you foresee significant investment in brand building, ie. PR or other activities that will actually create a memorable brand. If you aren't investing in the brand heavily and are more reliant on keyword based traffic then I would not recommend 301ing. Although its not typical to lose a lot of value when 301ing you do stand the chance that something could go wrong and not to mention it's usually quite a bit of work to map out all the redirects. In my honest opinion the return on effort here is not worth the risk.

Duplicate peices of content on multiple pages - is this a problem
Andy is 100% right: don't sweat the snippets and noindex your category pages (they can be a dupe content issue so it's better to be proactive rather than end up as Panda food).

Can Google see all the pages that an seomoz crawl picks up?
Well, that could be your easy solution. Make sure they're all set not to be indexed, then you'll be able to (mostly) ensure Google won't crawl them, and they'll probably disappear from your moz crawl report as well. As far has how moz is finding them to begin with behind your login wall, sorry, I have no idea.

Does Google take a lot of notice of html and what a p class maybe called?
Probably not a big deal, but since we don't know everything that the bots are looking at, if it is an easy fix I would consider just updating the CSS.

In open site explorer, why are subdomain stats different to domain stats?
Thanks Keri - that's it. We have the domain.com 301 redirecting to www.domain.com so guess we have it covered anyway Cheers

Is seomoz running a London event this year?
We currently don't have plans for a London event. That said... We are planning on doing some Mozcations this year. Locations TBD. How we determine the location is by crowd-sourcing, so when we launch the crowd-sourcing, you'll have to advocate for London. We're planning one international and one US-based Mozcation. That said, I suggest you check out Distilled Events, and you can even get a discount with our PRO Perks. (Just noticed, we don't have the London Discount up anymore. PM me if you're interested; it's 100 pounds off.)

How much impact does bad html coding really have on SEO?
Hi Chammy, I inherited a site that reported 3,184 crawl errors in MOZ and a significant number of them (nearly 600) were duplicate titles and content. I have that down to under 1,000 total errors and only 86 critical errors. I have seen my ranking grow pretty substantially and in one week had 6 pages increase over 20 positions in rank. I can share the MOZ Rank Report if you would like to see it. So yes, it does have an impact.
