i have this confusion, Let us suppose I have this website and somebody in Canada just wrote 150 words follow link , an external link, to my site

my question is , is that gonna be a referral link or a back link if that website has DA of 70? higher the better

second question: How does that particular post contributes to a referral or a back link I mean does somebody click on it , does somebody reads it ,does somebody shares it, what happens ?

will the linking domain of my website increases when i manually click on the backlinks  of my website using vpn

right now as i am writing , i am creating follow backlinks on different sites , but when i check my websites backlinks list only few show up, for ex: on ahrefs site, refering domains are 13 and backlinks are 40. my question is what should i do to keep both number of refering domain and backlinks just around the same ?

somebody told me if i get a  click on my backlink , i will get more refering domains
