Everything Alex said right on the money.
With southeast Asia being your main target can I ask you have a specific part of Southeast Asia? But you're targeting because I normally do a lot of things that are targeting people that use Google however if you're targeting people that use Yahoo or Bing or some other search engine you may have certain things that will not work as well
For instance you're going to want to have a domain with whatever part of southeast Asia you're targeting as I do not believe that Baidu , Naver, Yahoo or Bing allows you to Geo target with a .com or .net or .org
The same thing goes for hosting you weigh want to make sure that you have an IP address out of that country and that you are being hosted out of that country if you're not targeting people primarily using Google all this is not a big deal I Google it is a big deal with other search engines
If you're not already hosting in Asia I would move your server to an Asian data center
As far as Asia goes I my first choice would be Verizon Terremark they recently purchased edge cast which is a super pop there as well
http://www.terremark.com/data-centers/asia-pacific.aspx
I know Rackspace has recently opened up a data center in Hong Kong
http://www.rackspace.com.hk
http://www.rackspace.com/blog/the-rackspace-cloud-has-arrived-in-hong-kong/
Same with soft layer in Singapore
http://www.softlayer.com/singapore-hosting
As far as hosting goes I know and NNT has a very strong network in that area of the world
https://www.ntt.com/resource-center/topics-asia/data/singapore.html
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1307684
http://www.rackspace.com/information/mediacenter/announcements/akamai/
Like Alex said a lot of work and a lot of high-quality content is what's going to really make you stand out. Then you're going to have to find out what the best search engine is for your target market in Southeast Asia
I hope this is of help to you
Sincerely,
Thomas
Hi Mike,
if the source code still shows no follow & no index then unfortunately Google bot will not change that.
the easiest way to tell is to use the Moz bar if you use Google Chrome or Firefox you can download it for free here
http://moz.com/tools/seo-toolbar
whenever you're on the page you think is blocked simply click the tool and it will tell you.
However if you have the no follow and no index removed then you have to wait for Google bot to index your site prior to any changes in Google.
Try running your site through one of the 3 tools here.
The Moz crawl test is pretty awesome it sometimes can take a while for the results come in. If your site is very large I would use it because the other free tools below will not go over a set amount of pages for instance Internet marketing ninjas 1000 pages is the max in the case of screaming frog 500 pages is the max.
https://moz.com/researchtools/crawl-test
One thing I would do is download this tool it is free to crawl your site up to 500 pages and works on Mac, PC and Linux
http://www.screamingfrog.co.uk/seo-spider/
It will show you very clearly if you have any pages that are no follow , no index
if you run that tool then export all the no follow no index pages or export the crawl report I can use the Pro version and I will change your tags to no longer say no follow no index
I'd also be interested in seeing what your robots.txt file says by putting a URL of mine into this tool below I was able to get this information
http://www.internetmarketingninjas.com/seo-tools/robots-txt-generator/
User-agent: *
Disallow: /wp-content/plugins/
Disallow: /wp-admin/
Disallow: /wp-includes/
Sitemap: http://app.wistia.com/sitemaps/23283.xml
I can now see that as long as anything that says Disallow with the / is going to be blocked
its a very simple way to check for things that could be causing problems that would replicate identical symptoms.
The same company that makes that robots.txt tool makes another tool that could help you quite a bit. Similar to screaming frog however this one will crawl your site up to 1000 pages at no cost.
http://www.internetmarketingninjas.com/seo-tools/google-sitemap-generator/
I know it says site map generator however in addition to doing that it will show you every single blocked page and for what reason it's blocked. In addition you don't have to download software it's right on the web. After which it will e-mail you the results or you can watch them come in.
Here's some more information that might be of help to you

in the description I would recommend writing it so that the reader gets the best idea of what you offer and services. To me web design and website design a the same thing however you might gain something by using different term that is still extremely relevant to what you offer as a company.
The description is for people and you have to consider that most people will understand that web designed & website design would consider them the same if not identical.
You write the description for the viewer/visitor like you do everything in search
http://moz.com/learn/seo/meta-description
https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/35624?hl=en
http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2007/09/improve-snippets-with-meta-description.html
here is some information as to why you are getting that result.
The Google blog post describes key attributes of what Google considers making a good meta description, factors its says may increase the odds that your meta description tag will get used. They include:
2. Blue Fountain Media doesn't use their company name on title tag. But when I search "Blue Fountain Media" on Google, it only showed their company name. How? Their title tag was "Website Design Company & Digital Marketing Agency in NYC | BFM".
#2
I would include the company's in the homepage title tag
The reason Google comes back with blue fountain media as a result is it is in the content from the website more importantly it is in the description. along with Google changing the results to better suit the search query. So when somebody searches "blue fountain media" and the URL , site content along with the description contain the term searched for it is going to return that to the person who queried it as a top result because for this particular term it is the most relevant result
<title>Website Design Company & Digital Marketing Agency in NYC | BFM</title>
Blue Fountain Media" is a results-driven web design & online marketing firm in New York City, serving companies worldwide." >
1. So I guess I'm okay with it, right? It is okay to use different term and do not repeat keyword on title tag and meta description.
Yes
2. Title tag or meta description? Because on your response, you bold "Blue Fountain Media" on meta description. I have my company name Cordate on meta description. So should be okay right?
I would use the company name in the Title tag of the home page. But yes you will be okay with it in the meta description.
Yes (I don't like sliders but partly for that reason) if you are going to use a slider add a H1 make sure its stays the same
See
**https://yoast.com/opinion-on-sliders/ **
This is the best slider if you ask me Soliloquy if you are going to use one.
All the best,
Tom
Hi Scott,
If you are looking for somebody to confirm what Chris said I agree 100%.
If you are backlink has value keep it in place. As long as possible.
If you have done a redirect on a back link you know has no value meaning no one is going to it directly nor does it have any back links of any value pointing to it. Six months is a very safe cutoff time.
If you are doing a redesign you want to map your redirects
All the best,
Thomas
Hi Scott,
you should only have the canonical tag on the URL that represents the home page.
So if you are home page is www.mysite.com you would only have a canonical tag their
does that make sense?
Essentially you should not use the canonical tag on a page that is not going to be in Google's index
If you are already 301 redirecting your index.HTML using Regex or whatever method it will not need to tag in addition.

Rewrite the URLs your hosting company for a plug-in like
https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo-premium/
Yoast makes it better be best redirect plug-in for WordPress I know of.
You can use The redirection plug-in
https://wordpress.org/plugins/redirection/
Hosting
http://getflywheel.com/help/do-you-support-htaccess-files/
You will want to clean up what WordPress did not.
Via 301 redirects it is most likely an error in your HTaccess file
Your WordPress install is not up to date as well you may want to ensure that is updated to 4.0.
Have http://getflywheel.com/tour/ do it
This is something I would recommend a company like Getflywheel.com at $15 a month you get manage WordPress your own all SSD VPS and all the issues with WordPress to take care of by them. http://getflywheel.com is a bargain.
Hope that helps,
Thomas
PS try to save your link structure to the way you want it and make sure you click the save button.
if it does not work there a problem that would require access to WordPress to fix
http://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/39665/custom-htaccess-rewrite-rule-for-page
You can check it with
https://yoast.com/wp-content/permalink-helper.php
https://yoast.com/change-wordpress-permalink-structure/
If you’re on Apache and you decide to do the redirect, having been on a/yyyy/mm/dd/%postname%/ structure before, you might benefit from this simple redirect which you could throw into your .htaccess file:
| 1 | RedirectMatch 301 /\d{4}/\d{2}/\d{2}/(.*) http://example.com/$1 |
A flexible pattern URL mapping is a way of redirecting all URLs that match a particular pattern, to equivalent destination URLs, using a single mapping. It does this by allowing you to parse out and name portions of the requested URL to substitute into the destination URL. These types of URL mappings are useful when you are changing the structure or format of your URLs, but want to make sure you can redirect requests for pages under their old URL structure to their new URLs.
An example of a flexible pattern URL is the following:
/myblog/:post-year/:post-month/*rest-of-url?id=:post-id
Each portion of the URL above that starts with a colon (:) creates a named component that is matched until the next delimiter character (./=&?), and any portion that starts with an asterisk (*) creates a named component that is matched until the end of the URL (up to the query string).
The named components can then be used in the URL mapping's destination, with each name included inside of curly braces. For example, the named components defined in the flexible pattern URL above could be used to create the following destination:
/newblog/{post-year}/{post-month}/post-{post-id}/{rest-of-url}
To demonstrate how this flexible pattern URL mapping would work, let's consider the following example requested URL and where it would be redirected. The named components in the requested and destination URLs are highlighted.
Requested URL: http://www.mydomain.com/myblog/2013/12/marketing/inbound-marketing-rocks?id=98765
Redirected to: http://www.mydomain.com/newblog/2013/12/post-98765/marketing/inbound-marketing-rocks
With this pattern-based URL mapping we were able to retain all of the important, identifying parts of the original URL and insert them into the new URL structure. In addition, with this particular mapping, we were able to:
I think that your description of your page being a "word doc" is a strong sign it is not user-friendly.
Use the MozBar http://moz.com/tools/seo-toolbar & look at the websites with non-personalized search on.
I think a good example of a site that contains a lot of text but is still compact and functional is http://websynthesis.com/ now there current company copy blogger does not have as much text on its homepage however I would suggest you look at the way they format text it is, big, with the right amount of spacing scannable if you know what I mean making it easy to read and the letters are big enough so it is comfortable http://www.copyblogger.com/
Look at they have been able to keep the text on the homepage and do it in a method that makes it very easy to read. You want people the will to scan your site.
I have tried to go to the domain I have tried to follow the hints to get your domain you are going to have to write it out and give a very clear for people to find it. You can use (service London co.uk) keep it inside of some system that I can find your site using. Because I have gone to a lot of domains that are for sale.
I will respond promptly once you post that or simply send me a private message with it.
All the best,
Tom
remember that your homepage has to tell the visitor in under five seconds exactly what you do.
see this https://usabilityhub.com/tests/new/FiveSecondTest
your site currently is something I would really have to need to read in order to keep going and I'm not saying that to be mean at all I'm saying it to be honest it's not clear what you do immediately and it does resemble a Word document.
Now let's take this homepage and not forget about CTA You have a unique service you could get very creative like some of the examples below from the security world sorry
but they all will you the same thing in five seconds what they do then allow you to find the information you need how cool you could make your site if you used graphics along calls to action with words to tell the story
https://www.digitalocean.com/ tells you what they do
https://www.digitalocean.com/features/technology/ tells you a lot more shows you what they offer.
http://www.distilnetworks.com/
https://sucuri.net/website-firewall/ 2
If you want to see what I would say is a very good-looking homepage that happens to have a fair amount of text
see gordonjamesrealty.com it incorporates the testimonials and gives a lot of information. I think your home page should tell people what you do then give them the ability to find what they're looking for via a very well thought out.
if the company you've hired is up to par they should be able to do this without you losing your traffic regardless of what page it ends up going to I would listen to what they have to say and definitely make your home page something that invites people to learn about what you do after they know they've landed in the right place from your homepage.
then http://99designs.com/ save $99 with http://moz.com/perks
I think you should have an idea of what you want and I'll allow the designer to impress you. Never stray from the showing people exactly what you do in under five seconds.
Sorry phone calls I will reply more I promise
I would move your website off of webs
http://support.webs.com/entries/54236074-301-redirect
I have given some information below on DNS redirects however I would strongly suggest moving to either WordPress or hubspot it is more of a issue with the software you're running then anything else.
"In other words I created a page called "areas of the UK we cover" but decided to change it to "areas covered" However, I must have created links to this page and now it is a dead link with a page authority of 19"
yes it would be confusing if you provided to areas covered unless the site has something to do with areas covered outside the United Kingdom still I would keep one area covered page.
However I am not familiar with webs even after searching the http://www.webs.com/help-and-contact pages
I have not found anything that would make me believe hosting site of any importance would be wise on that system. For this very reason. Now let me explain you can do redirects via DNS
I hope this helps,
Thomas
Hi Rob,
You're more than welcome I'm happy to help.
The only time you would not want to use Yoast for creating both open graph tags and Meta tags on WordPress is if you preferred another plug-in that did it or if you wanted to do something highly customized that really is not necessary most of the time.
No I do recommend using Yoast to create your meta tags as well as open graph tags. These are important and very easy to create using Yoast.
First and foremost Yoast is an outstanding tool for the creating both open graph and meta tags
** All of this is on how to use meta tags they should be used in combination with open graph through Yoast.**
Open Graph how to use it.
You should let Yoast create Meta tags & Open Graph the meta info and instead use "Open Graph", which is schema?
https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/#title-description
Open Graph protocol If the page contains Open Graph properties for the title, image, and description, they will be used for the a Snippet.
<metaproperty="og:title"content="..."><metaproperty="og:image"content="..."><metaproperty="og:description"content="..."></metaproperty="og:description"content="..."></metaproperty="og:image"content="..."></metaproperty="og:title"content="...">
How to use meta-tags
** All of this is on how to use meta tags they should be used in combination with open graph through Yoast.**
http://www.wordstream.com/meta-tags
http://searchenginewatch.com/sew/how-to/2067564/how-to-use-html-meta-tags
https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/79812?hl=en
Your question about schema you should use all 3 together
What is schema and how to use it
You can use schema to tell Google a reference that is excellent for this and has very many fantastic examples is built visible & Seer
Create schema you can use
I hope this clears things up and remember there is a place for all of these things on your site. However each serves a purpose which will benefit your site unless you're going to do something really dramatic with PHP Yoast is by far your best bet.
so please keep using Yoast and on top of that you can use schema to.
I hope this helps,
Tom
I responded to your other question the best way to implement these practices is to either show us your domain and what is being requested every time someone comes to your site or most sites do not have their .js & .css files combined
the easiest way to implement this right now is to take your files and put them into a tool like this to find out which files need to be combined
http://www.feedthebot.com/pagespeed/ or http://www.feedthebot.com/tools/requests/
once you have figured out the files that you want to combine for CSS you can use this tool
CSS only below
http://www.feedthebot.com/tools/css/
please send me your domain so I can do this for you if you like.
All the best,
Thomas
Turn the images into sprites there is a lot more slowing your site down then DNS and it is part of it but most of it is hosting and I did combine your JS files for you your CSS files were already combined.
These are some of the things slowing down your site and causing DNS to have to go back and resolve every time. their at the bottom. You do not have enough requests to have such a slow site let's definitely upgrade your DNS and better hosting it does not have to cost more
http://www.webpagetest.org/result/150413_MJ_3Y1/
here is the speed chart comparing the major DNS companies
http://www.solvedns.com/dns-comparison/
DynECT is my preferred. Dyn.com Keep in mind you can make a deal with NSone.net for everything you need for much less than you would imagine. Speedyrails.com resells edgecast route DNS for the price of $40 you can have 25 million queries per month way more than you need. The company that might fit perfectly is DNSmadeeasy.com they have incredible performance like the others with a base price of $29 a year so when you pay that no more payments for a year. This in addition offers you 10 million queries a month way more than you need.
cloudflare gives you free DNS that's very fast.
Look at the comparison of some of the other DNS companies and you will see that they add significant time onto your sites load time
http://www.solvedns.com/dns-comparison/draw.php?date=2015-03
http://www.webpagetest.org/result/150413_MJ_3Y1/1/performance_optimization/#first_byte_time
This is a very slow website because of the hosting platform it's on
Try top recommendation would be
https://www.firehost.com/ if cost is not issue FireHost
if it is an issue which is pretty normal.
Rackspace has created four tears of magento hosting from small to very large
http://www.rackspace.com/ecommerce-hosting/magento/
if you are not using a managed hosting platform ( I see who your hosting with it appears that you're not)
you can build your own droplet on digital ocean starting at a very low cost and very high performance
ttps://www.digitalocean.com/features/one-click-apps/magento/
other companies I would strongly recommend looking into.
