Google My Business Login
Ack, are you trying to get access to a client's profile? An easier method is to get the owner to give you manager access so you can access it from your own account. You can follow Hurf's article if you're not worried about security and that should do the trick too. I've had some bad experiences with lack of security and wouldn't wish it on anyone, so I don't recommend it if you can avoid it.

How to remove a former business location from Google Places?
Hi Blair, Funny, I recalled this question, too, but didn't realize it was yours I wish we could get an 'official word' from Google on this, because it's something the guidelines hint around but don't speak to directly. Have you ever posted this question in the Google And Your Business Forum, just to see if you get any feedback from the TCs there? Maybe even from a staffer? What's really important, I think, is the distinction between what Google's guidelines state about rental properties, etc., and the fact that a main office is being located on the property for several years. I mean, if it were a watch repair store that opened for several years and then closed, no one would fault them for having a G+ Local page, right? So, I think there is grey area here. You've been told by a Google rep not to do this, but I am truly curious as to the reasoning behind that individual's advice, and whether they could have been misinterpreting the guidelines. Blair, as this is a business model you deal with constantly, I'd suggest trying again to get feedback from a Google staffer on this, maybe via their forum. If that doesn't work, you might try contacting a TC, like Linda Buquet or Mike Blumenthal to see if they would consider writing about your topic ... because there just isn't a clear guideline for this, in my opinion, given the exact details of the business model.

Unpaid Followed Links & Canonical Links from Syndicated Content
For such a massive duplication and linking from the same IP, I would definitely follow the canonical / nofollow route - do you know how long it will take the user to implement these? In the meantime, there isn't terribly much you can do - you definitely do not want to do anything like disavowing the links (you should only do that if you receive unnatural link warnings or have been hit by a penalty or negative SEO attack). The quicker the tagging can be done, the better in this case. Although Google should understand and disregard, I did have a new client penalised back in 2010 because they were sharing a financial widget across a range of Australian newspaper websites that were all owned by the same company and thus all on the same IP. We got the penalty removed with reconsideration requests but were about to implement a network-wide nofollow on these little widgets before we submitted the request.

How can I manually build local citations for a client?
You're so welcome, Blair. Yep, no shortcuts. This isn't work most people adore doing, but it's so important.

How to Have Flat Navigation w/out Diluting Link Juice
Doug, Somehow I missed your response. The site has 200 pages or so linked from the navigation. Thanks for the suggestion. Adding some links or breadcrumbs may help. Ideally what I would want to do is have google crawl to the important pages and not have juice flow to customer service / info only pages that in most cases have little need to rank in the SERP's. The client wants flat navigation, and I understand the point (you can be anywhere and find these pages). The drawback is spraying juice to non-relevant pages from a SEO perspective. If there is a way to block crawling that is not considered cloaking, that would be the approach. Thanks for answering.

Video SEO: Should I add Video Transcriptions to You Tube Videos Even with Google CC?
Quite. However, they don't use the machine generated transcriptions to rank your videos yet. i don't think it was the intention of Jeff to suggest that, but It's a bit of a misnomer. They currently onyl regularly index the one's you upload (because they're deemed as more accurate).
