Like you I'm also struggling to find keywords for my site that are not too competitive or too difficult to try to get a piece of that pie. I found Market Samurai software to help find niche keywords using their "Golden Rules" Take a look at their training videos here:http://www.noblesamurai.com/dojo/marketsamurai/ Under Keyword Research They walk through a real life example of keyword research and show you how to pick the right keywords, and the ones you want to avoid especially if you are a beginner.
