I have had a very quick look at your link profile and it seems there are 2 major issues.

1. You anchor text profile is over optimised for commercial terms, this looks unnatural to Google and is usually what algorithmic updates such as Google Penguin look for to reduce a sites rankings.

2. A lot of your links seem to be forum profiles, this is an old and quite spammy way of building links to a site. These types of links used to work to gain rankings but with recent advancements and updates in Google these can actually harm your site.

I would recommend to look at all the links pointing to your site, look closely at what links are unnatural and attempt to get them removed. As well as this I would recommend submitting these unnatural links to the Google Disavow Tool in your Webmaster Tools account.

Yes it would stop that particular URL ranking and you would lose the traffic. Apologies, I assumed from your post that the organic data from that URL was causing issues and you did not want it indexed. I thought there may be a URL parameter you could block that URL and leave the original URL you want to rank in Google's index.

Yes that's right, you can use hreflang on the homepage also. I would recommend to use the links I provided to make sure the code is exactly how Google describes.

I'm not sure what you mean by your second question but I would keep your category structure as follows:

Category URL: http://dispak.ee/en/paperbags/

Product URL: http://dispak.ee/en/paper-product/

Doing it this way keeps the URL shorter and removes any issues with duplicate products under several categories. If you cannot do this then there is no major issue having the category name in the URL also, I just prefer to keep URLs short.

I know this question is old now but I thought I may be able to help if it is still unsolved.

I had a similar client with a site that had to cater for several languages and there is a certain way to go about it.

You can use a certain type of meta tag that informs Google and other Search Engines that you have other pages that are the same as the one they are currently on but serves it under a different language. This meta tag is the hreflang tag.

In your case you have the following URLS:

• dispak.ee/en/paperbags
• dispak.ee/fi/papperskassar
• dispak.ee/da/papirsposer

I am going to assume all these posts serve the same content in different languages. Now take the first URL (English) I would add the following meta tag to the page

What this does is it tells Google that there is different languages versions of this page in different locations. I have also kept the language in the URL just to make it clearly for users. To answer your other question, I would remove the other elements from longer URLs yes. Keyword rich URLs do not affect SEO massively and it will keep it much clearer for your visitors.

You could block this page from search engines so that they no longer index the page. There are 2 main ways of doing this:

1. You can block the page using a meta tag.

2. You can block the page using the robots.txt file in the root of your website.

The only other issue I see with this is your sitemap will get outdated quickly if you have a lot of content/pages being added to your site. Additional work or development may be needed to create a fluent sitemap that auto-updates alongside the website.

I would try to keep you sitemap as clean as possible. But could you export all the data into a CSV and clean up the pages using a formula. If you got a full list of your URLs in column A in Excel. Then used the following formula

=LEFT(A1,Find("ref=",A1)-1)

Put this formula into cell B1 and drag the formula down all the rows. This should strip out all of the parameters you do not want. Then simply remove the duplicates and you have your list of URLs to create a clean sitemap.

I would look more into making sure the URLs are kept fairly short and friendly. I wouldn't expect a huge SEO impact from this, I would look more into the question "does including the brand name in the URL improve usability for my visitors?". Maybe you have several "ProductA" all by different brands? If this is the case then yes I would include the brand name in the URL.

If you are selling only BrandX products on your store and nothing else then I would not bother putting in the brand name as you are already including the brand in your main site URL. Having it twice could make the URL look at bit keyword stuffed.

I have seen this duplicate issue before and from my knowledge there are a lot of sites on the web that do this.

My initial thoughts would be to not worry too much. Google will know this is a widespread issue and will deal with it accordingly. I would recommend looking at setting up canonicalisation on your site as this will help Google understand the issue and it will help Google show which page is the relevant one to index. To answer your second question, I would not worry about the amount of external links. Having the limit at 100 links per page (as moz recommends in its on page analyser) is an age old tip because when Google was much smaller and had less server resource it rarely crawled past the 100 link. Here's a video that shows they dropped this guideline. Nowadays this is not the case. As long as you are not linking to hundreds of pages for SEO or Search Engine manipulation reasons then I would leave it as it is.

You could easily get this information by using a standalone desktop crawler to go through the site and see how many URL and internal and external links there are.

The best would be Screaming Frog as this was built with SEO functionality in mind however the free version only allows you to crawl 500 pages which is close to your limit.

If you are looking for a free crawler then xenu links sleuth should do the trick. However this only works on WIndows machines so if you have a mac then Screaming Frog may be your best solution.
