I am using the "page attributes" tool for a guideline for what I am filling in on each page of my website. I feel like I've done my homework on this, but I can't figure out what "html text" is.

      URL

      Page Title

      Meta Description

      Meta Keywords

      H1

      H2

**HTML Text ** ... not sure what to put here, how long it should be, what it's purpose is, etc. Any SEOMoz links helping me figure that out? I'm not finding it in the "Basics of Search Engine Design" article posted here on SEOMoz.

This looks like this is the backend of some CMS (content management system). Are you using a service or website builder?

The HTML Text would more than likely be the text that you want in the body area of your webpage. If your webpage is about a certain product, you would write descriptive information about your product. If it's about a service, then describe your service.

How long it is really depends. If it's a huge topic it could be a few thousand words. There are really no hard and fast rules, it will all boil down to if you want to rank for something and how much information you need to put on the page for both ranking, as well as providing good information to the reader.

The purpose would be to provide your website visitors information about what you are offering or writing about on your website.

OK, so it's basically the page content. I am just using the "page elements" window (sorry, I had said "page attributes" incorrectly in my question) that's part of the SEOMoz tool (the Firefox plug in). I'm using it to help me find the spots that need to be filled in and also using this SEOMoz article to help define the slots that need to be filled in. It seems the html text is simply the page content - all clear. Thanks!

            • Is this still considered true about INTERNAL anchor text? "Penguin seems to be targeting overly aggressive anchor text (both internally and externally), especially from low-quality sources."
