Is it important to select the right category for directory listings from an SEO point of view?

I have located  2 appropriate categories in Business.com for my website:

      Category 1 = PR 5, Page Authority 53

      Category 2 = PR 4, Page Authority 44

I presume number of links on the page is also a factor.

Yes it is, link count is very important,
Manny directories have heaps of links linking back to their own site. But I believe that SE's understand that if there is one link to site A, and 100 links to Site B, that they should give more importance to the one link to site A. (cant remember where I got this info from, I think SeoMoz or a matt Cutts video)
Myself I try not to look at rank, I look for relevancy. I believe that a relevant link makes up for a lot of PR so much that I don’t bother to check, if it’s relevant I want a link. Even better is if I get to pick my relevant link text

The name of the category itself is largely irrelevant as long as it's tangentially related to your site. The description of your site and anchortext in the listing is where most of the relevancy comes from anyway. The most important thing to consider is how many people are in that category, and where exactly your listing will show up. A lot of people get caught up with the PR and mozRank of a directory's category only to realize after they shelled out some cash that their listing will forever reside on a subpage that has no PageRank and is likely not in the primary Google Index.

But no need to repeat the information I just posted -> here are more tips in a related Q&A thread.
