UX & Product Page Design
-
Hi
I have a question regarding UX testing.
Is it best when testing a product page to:
1. Redesign and test the new page - if it works, test elements to see what worked.
2. Start testing element by element to see what has a positive impact.
We have differing opinions within the company, and I'd like to hear some feedback from others in the industry.
Thank you

I would say it depends on how bad the current page is. If you're going against known best practices I would do a redesign and then do element by element.
However if you're close and just trying to squeeze every penny possible, I would do individual elements on a 50/50 (or 30/30/30 or something like that if more variants) if possible. You don't want your users to load one time and see something completely different the next time.

We do it differently.
Have you done several mockups? have you taken those mockups to customers for direct feedback? We recommend you start there...
After that there are plenty of tools to optimize and tweak the site, optimizely, crazy egg etc.
Hope that assists.

Great thank you for the feedback.
This is being run by another team, but we want the chance to provide some feedback. Does anyone have any great examples of product page designs?
