Not provided....

just wondering what the point is in analysing the data from google analytics if 95% of the traffic says "not provided" which means the data im looking is not accurate....??/
How does one deal with this??

Hey paddyaran
I agree and am sure I can speak for the majority of us that the "not provided" struggle is REAL! I was reading a recent article from SEL (from Greg Gifford) called "One Positive Pigeon Result: We Can Finally Ditch Ranking Reports" and got some great tips from it.
After reading your question I thought that you may benefit from it (if you haven't already read it). Not necessarily the basis of the article since it talks specifically about "Rank reporting for clients". If you read down to #2 (Organic Landing Pages) & #3 (Organic Conversion Sources), I think this could be very helpful for you.
Give it a read!

Yes, it's a huge struggle. Are you signed up with Google Webmaster Tools? It provide some additional data.

How the hell does a tool like similarweb pro work though, it says it will show you organic keywords that drive traffic.
Moz does offer a report I find useful, it's the landing page report. Search>>Landing Pages. You feed keywords and Moz will tell you which URL and how much traffic your keywords might be driving to that page.
It's a great way to find out what keywords might be driving traffic and then "optimize" your page for that keyword.

Yea thats interesting......
I need to learn about the conversion reports and even the organic landing pages......
Why feed all this data that is pointless in analytics?..... -
The best offense is a great defense!
I wouldn't waste another second of your valuable time on it. IMO Google wanted to stop making it easy for SEO's and wanted to make us WORK for that valuable data. You should just start tracking your pages that are optimized/ranking for specific terms. Then you can see what IS and what ISN'T working.
At that point, the "not provided" nonsense becomes a rear-view mirror object for you.

But yes, I agree, this is quite a frustrating issue to deal with.
