Style Attribute of Anchor Text

I have about 5 sites that I operate. I want to link them from each website for SEO purpose, but they honestly do not relate to each other as far as user experience goes. For this reason, I implemented the following style attribute to the <a>tags:</a>

<a></a>

<a></a>Anchor Text

My question is whether the Anchor Text is going to suffer SEO wise by this choice of styling. I know that styling usually does not affect SEO but I am looking for anyone who has any experience with this issue.

If I'm reading this correctly, you're wanting a link to show to the search engines but you don't want your visitors to easily see it

The text will still render to search engines and you should be fine. When we have a logo on a site that doesn't require text (except on mobile) we usually display: none; the text on higher resolutions yet Google and others still crawl the link. Our method is slightly different from you since our link is part of an image, as well, however.

That being said, if you are trying to hide text from users all together it seems a little shady / outdated and is a big no-no.

Yes! The Links are purely SEO purposed. The Sites do not have relative content, but they are all page rank 1-3 so I figured I would like the benefit from linking them. Thanks

Highly recommend avoiding this tactic then. This is a huge no-no.

This actually goes against Google's guidelines (more information at https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/66353?hl=en&ref_topic=6001971). I would personally not implement such links, and if you already have them, remove them ASAP.

So if we want to attribute original artwork via a link back to our site, what is the best way to accomplish this without the page being cluttered by a visible link?

You can hyperlink the artwork itself back to the source site.

Again, if you're linking just for SEO purposes, and you're trying to hide links from the search engines, it's not the best course of action, and goes against multiple search engine guidelines.
