Google + local Multiple Locations
-
My client has three offices and I have created three separate Google + local listings for them - I have listed the specific locations page as the website address for each - Google specifies to add the coding to the homepage to link Google + however what do we do with the three different codes - does each one go on the home page or at the bottom of the specific landing page for that particular office?

Hi Allie,
I want to be sure we're both using the same vocabulary here (Google has made its branding so confusing). What code are you talking about and what does it do, specifically, and are you sure you mean Google+ Local pages...not Google+ pages? Please, let me know.

Hi Miriam,
Sorry I know my head is spinning - it is for the Google + Pages (added the business to the ' local' option as opposed to brand, entertainment etc) The code I am referring to is the code that you add to the homepage of your website so that you see Google+ in the footer? Hope that makes sense.You are such a wealth of knowledge - thank you for responding.

Hi Allie,
What I have read is that you can put more than one +1 buttons on the same page, yes. See: https://developers.google.com/+/web/+1button/
Scroll down to the FAQ section and you'll see this:
<dl>
<dt id="faq-multiple-buttons">Can I place multiple buttons on a single page that all +1 different URLs?</dt>
<dd>Yes. Use the
hrefattribute as specified in +1 tag parameters to indicate the URL to be +1'd.</dd><dd>That being said, I have not read any studies about how to handle this best. I cannot find anything stating whether it is better to put all of the code on a single page or break it up into multiple pages. I'll leave this question open for discussion in case one of our members has a study or best practice to share on this.</dd>

Thanks Miriam, I will let the developers know and obviously watch to see if anyone else has had this issue. Surely it is a common problem with Local businesses that have more than one office? Google sure is making this a minefield. Really wish they would sort it out and give definitive answers.

Hi AllieMC, how did it work out for you? We are in a similar situation and looking to create a google+ local page for each location. Haven't decided how we are going to link them on our website but we have a dedicated landing page for each location that will definitely have the corresponding/appropriate Google+ local link.
