So I work in a very niche industry and compete very well with Google PPC. I was recently able to acquire domains of keywords that drive almost 40% of all our paid traffic and quite a bit of organic traffic as well.

The problem is that these keyword domains carry no authority (obviously because i just bought them).

Would i be best served to just do redirects with these names to my current site(s)? Or i was also thinking about setting up independent blog sites that would link back to my main site.

I' was also thinking of changing the domains of my paid google ads to align with the recently acquired links....

Thanks in advance for your help!

My short answer would be to redirect the exact match domains to your current site. You don't want to try to do SEO on multiple sites; you want to focus your effort on building your brand/image, and increasing authority of your main site.

Also, in regard to exact match domains, I'd strongly suggesting taking a look at this SEOmoz blog post: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/are-exact-match-domains-in-decline

You could also think about setting up these domains as independent sites (not linked with one another) and create separate entities for them. This strategy works well from a risk diversification standpoint so that your entire business is not focused on one domain alone. The key here is to set up these domains as stand alone content rich sites and generate their own ROI. Based on quality content, you might have all these domains ranking high after a while.

My company dabbled in this for years, and after the matter, my conclusion is this: you will have to hire more people to maintain all these other entities, and if you're able to handle the load with the staff you currently have, you probably weren't running very efficiently to begin with (overstaffed).
