On my site my homepage acts as sort of a landing page that is geared towards getting the customer sign up (almost like a PPC landing page aside from a few navigation options...about, blog, contact and the legal docs in the footer).  My blog is geared towards other businesses in the industry and the like minded tech people.

      My problem:
From a user perspective I don't feel that blog snippets would add anything useful to the homepage.  However, I feel like I fresh content would help my SEO endeavors.  Suggestions?

      Note:
Should be mentioned that all my social stuff is deeply integrated into my /blog so importing tweets, for example, is out of the question.

        Jason,

One option would be to split up the home page.  Devote the above-the-fold portion to your primary purpose, then below that, have article snippets.  Alternately, split it down the middle - left/right, or some other combination of a grid layout.  The other advantage of snippets on the home page is more people (not all but some) would find that additional content.

By putting it below the fold you are less likely to detract from your call to action if that's your home page's purpose, while still ensuring fresh content, and those snippet links count for a lot since Google puts more emphasis on links coming from the home page content area.

          I like Alan's idea.

You could also create a large number of "value propositions" for your product and those could be rotated automatically on your homepage daily or on whatever schedule you determine.  These would be sales pitches that might increase conversions.  And you could have a link to a page with the entire value proposition collection at the bottom of each tip.

Also, since your blog seems to be successful in social media maybe you could strengthen your sales pitch  and calls to action there.
