I recently submitted our main url to BOTW and Yahoo directory, Typically how long does it take for google to index these?

My experience, has been a few days usually.  It really depends on how deep the categories are.

I wouldn't expect a large boost immediately after them being indexed or cached.

Well, these links like any/all/most other links add to your domain authority and then based on how competitive your niche is, you may or may not see any real effect just from doing these 2 directory submissions.
