Vimeo or Youtube

Here are the answers to both your questions:
1.The following are free video sitemap generators I found
http://www.check-domains.com/sitemap/index.php
2. I think you already know the answer to this one.
Since Google owns YouTube, You would think that the most benefit for SEO would come from there.
-
Be careful on #2. The video on Youtube may outrank the same video on your own site.

Hi Vijay,
I think that there are various tools in the market from which you can easily generate your own video sitemap but if you need professionals for these task then you should have to outsource the work from various outsourcing companies like odesk, freelancer, etc.
In my opinion you should embed youtube video into your post.It is because youtube is better video channel than vimeo from all the perspectives that you had mentioned above.
From SEO perspective youtube is the best video channel because it helps to perform better Google Search Results. It is so because youtube has more users than vimeo therefore it helps to provides better optimization.
As we already know that youtube videos performs better search results than vimeo.
As we know that vimeo is somewhat more secure & more restricted to upload your videos /content according to his guidelines.
For more details please refer to the below link, it helps you to clear all your queries:

Thanks.

Hi Harald,
Thanks for including the reference in your post to help further explain some of what you talked about. The post is about a year and a half old, so people should be aware some things with YouTube have changed, and likely with Vimeo.
I'm interested in your statement "From SEO perspective youtube is the best video channel because it helps to perform better Google Search Results. It is so because youtube has more users than vimeo therefore it helps to provides better optimization." Can you explain that a bit more, and show us where you got that information from?
I'm also asking our SEOmoz associate who is an expert in video ranking to step in and add his commentary to this thread.

Hi,
I'd use Wistia.com (you can get a discount from Pro Perks) and it will generate a sitemap for you plus attribute your website as the original source of the content. And it looks way more professional than YouTube.
-
1. As Geoff Andrews mentioned, if you use Wistia then they will autogenerate a sitemap for you, which can be quite helpful if you dont have the time to build it yourself - but it's not a big job to create one.
2. From a crawling and indexing perspective, YouTube is clearly the winner. YouTube videos get indexed very quickly and Google have access to all the metadata about the video to use for calculating relevancy. However, embedded YouTube videos wont normally give you a video result for your own domain, if that is what you are after. So, best practice really depends on your content and goals with the video - but i would use YouTube if you're trying to get as much exposure as possible and vimeo (only the pro package) if you're trying to get traffic and rankings for your own site.
I normally wouldn't recommend hosting the videos on vimeo and YouTube, but if you do, then ensure the YouTube video is not targeting the same keywords as the page with the Vimeo vid embedded.

2. From the perspective of controlling the SERPS, and having multiple listings in each search, Youtube wins. However, as other's have mentioned on this same post, that listing will be to Youtube, and not straight to your company. You then have to contend with that user's urge to continue on Youtube when trying to get them to your website. To me, this is a problem.
Instead, I would use hosting company that allowed you to actually have the video on your website, and not just frame it in like Youtube or the basic Vimeo. This will make the video count for content on your website, as well as allow you to have the video rank in SERPS. Check out Wistia, as previously mentioned, or Vimeo PRO since both of these will allow you to properly place them on your domain. I would also suggest using Schema markup for these videos. Doesn't hurt to swing for the rich snippet fences!

Hey Harald,
I'm afraid i don't think the link you've provided there is of much value regarding SEO. While It covers off some of the differences between the two platforms, but doesn't really relate to Vijay's question - which was about indexation and SEO best practice.

http://www.video-sitemap.org did not work , will try someother ones.
