I understand that in addition to video sitemaps, a transcription of a video, if presented properly will help google and may help SEO. I cannot find information on the basics to add transcription properly to a page. Advice or direction appreciated.

EDIT: Oops, just re-read the question on my PC as I was on my phone when I answered. Ignore my response, it doesn't relate.

I think you were looking for info on a transcription? Here is the info for creating a transcription:
Add a time-coded transcript to each video file that you uploaded saved as a .txt file
The time of each segment should be listed in the following format: HH:MM:SS.mmm according to Google
HH: Hours starting at 00
MM: Minutes starting at 00
SS: Seconds starting at 00
mmm: Milliseconds starting at 000
Here's an example of how the time-coded transcript should appear:
7:36:40.000
Words said between 07:36:40.000 and 07:36:43.000
7:36:43.000
Words said between 07:36.43.000 and the next segment.
7:36:44.000
Words said at 07:36:44.000
Each timestamp is in relation to the start of the associated video file
Here is the link from Google specifically about transcription: http://www.google.com/video/upload/video_transcripts.html

Learned a ton about video sitemaps. Still ignorant about practices when using transcription with video. Was it in there and I just missed it? Thanks for helping with sitemaps.
