  • From an SEO standpoint, I'd say that the URLs generally follow the same principles. Unfortunately, now that Google directly caches and displays your images, image SEO isn't worth quite the effort it used to be. In most cases, if images are on subdomains, it's for technical reasons unrelated to SEO. People might do this for load-balancing or because they run a 3rd-party CDN, etc. There are more sophisticated ways to do this so that the images all live on one subdomain with the content, but they can be more labor intensive and more costly (and some platforms just don't support them natively).

  • Sorry if that wasn't clear! By "soon" I meant within the aforementioned 24 hour window. We fixed this ~11:45am today, and the collections are beginning at 4pm this afternoon, so by 4pm tomorrow, you should see data (I just talked to the team and they said it might take a big more time than that - maybe 30-36 hours depending on where your campaign might see in the queue of those needing updates).

  • I would add that you may find Cyrus Shepard's Keywords to Concepts a useful read. You may find you don't need to optimize for every long tail term you want to catch.

  • Yes I realize tweets cannot be compared to blogs. I was just trying to point out how people love short content.

  • Hello, I found this thread and was wondering if there has been any updates on Moz supporting Adobe Analytics. I have several clients that utilize Adobe Analytics, and there's a huge opportunity to leverage Moz to support their needs. Thanks,

  • Hi Corn! Important question. Definitely do read Google's guidelines https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038177?hl=en which are very clear on this point: Use a precise, accurate address to describe your business location. PO Boxes or mailboxes located at remote locations are not acceptable. Google's guidelines are fundamental reading materials for all Local SEOs and local business owners. Study them, share them with your clients and check back on them periodically for updates, which tend to occur one or more times a year. You might also like to read a similar thread going on here regarding virtual offices: https://moz.com/community/q/virtual-offices-google-search Your client's options are: To wait until they open a physical office before participating in Google's local product Use their home address in creating their listing but then use the options to have it hidden, in which case, Google will only display the city and phone number ... not the street address But, using a mailbox of any kind is definitely not permitted. So glad you've asked!

  • Hi there I have seen correlations in my implementations to improved visibility, but you that doesn't mean that it boosts rankings every single time - each website/industry is different. According to this Search Engine Watch article, pages with Schema markup rank 4 positions higher in search results. But I can't stress this enough - you need to experiment and implement it (correctly) and benchmark your current organic visibility. If all major search engines pay attention to it, I can promise you it's worth implementing and tracking. Hope this helps! Good luck!

  • Hello! Domain Authority is OUR metric and we have a specific way of crawling to calculate our metrics. Majestic will have their own link discovery methods as well as other backlink tools. You will not find the same amount of data with any single tool so it is best to use all at your disposal to have as much information as you can for your analysis. Hope this helps!

  • Thank you for your feed back. Sorry for timely response I am inundated with work and have had an ill 2 two year old and Telsta line outage ( Aussie service provider ). I have chosen to stay with the .com mainly because I am starting to get weekly responses from google searches and actually just closed a big deal from someone who found us on google. So if it works don't to change it. I do agree with focusing on local links, which is what I have been doing over the past 4 - 6 weeks and it has increase our local ranking lately. Going to focus on that and build on local linking. According to Moz Search Visibility in the past two weeks we have had a higher visibility result than our competitors. As far as my international search result go that's an added bonus but not our main focus. All our hard work on SEO for our website seems to be paying off now. So going to stay with the .com than risk the move. Thank you.

  • Hi Ronnell, Great things to think about!  We are absolutely adding original content in other areas of the site. The ideal audience here is me, lol. I am a homeschooling mom and there are no other sites that list out events the way I do.  I know, because I've searched for it myself. It doesn't exist and would be super-helpful if it did. Since I am my ideal visitor, I ask myself would it annoy me to have to navigate through a menu to find my state of Georgia when I could just put in my zip code on the top level page and save myself a click. Yes, that would annoy me. But from a SEO standpoint, the Georgia page is probably better, so I'm not sure which is best to implement. As far as event pages on my site vs going to the 3rd party website, I again ask myself which would I prefer, since I am my ideal visitor. I would prefer to stay on this website. It annoys me to keep leaving a website to see what the event is and then having to close that separate tab, return to the site and then continue checking the list of events. However, when I check other homeschool sites, they all link directly to the 3rd party website. Copy/pasting content from the 3rd party sites... again, I don't like going to the 3rd party site for information. When I'm on a homeschool site and their 'original' description is "this looks like fun, i've never been there, but heard its great", or some other 3 or 4 sentence description - well I hate those descriptions because they tell me absolutely nothing. So personally I like to see the meat and potatoes description that's on the 3rd party website without having to go to the 3rd party website. But since it's simply duplicate content from the 3rd party, it's probably not best for my SEO, which is why no one else does it. So I really don't know which way to go! -J
