Backlinks not showing on Open Site Explorer's Just-Discovered Links
Hi Edgar, Dmytro is correct, these tools aren't 100% accurate, they're just used to give you an indication of volume and quality. I suspect the main reason for this is the sheer volume of websites out there. To provide 100% accurate backlink data, they'd have to be crawling billions of pages every single day to detect new/lost links. It's not uncommon for a new link to take anywhere from a couple of days to 3 or 4 months to show up. As a general rule, the more popular a site (think New York Times, not a high-traffic spam directory), the faster your link will be seen, though not necessarily.

Hiding content until user scrolls - Will Google penalize me?
Hi, An alternative approach would be to use http://michalsnik.github.io/aos/ library. It does not set the visibility: hidden or hide the content, but uses the concept of as the element is within the viewport it will apply the animation. Make sure to test AOS library though because it does set the opacity to 0 so feel free to test in a development environment and fetch as google using Webmaster Tools. If you don't want to use the AOSjs library you can write your own Javascript (JS) library to detect if the element is within the viewport and add the CSS class from the https://daneden.github.io/animate.css/ library as needed.

Scraper Advice
Don't second-guess on that myth that scrapers can't hurt you. These guys are outranking you right now with your own content. Proof enough to me that Kissmetrics needs to take notice and pull down false information. Also, this is another clear example of Google not knowing how poorly their systsem is working and they know not that they know not. Google would not be getting millions of DMCAs per week if they were right about this. I've sent them hundreds.

Should citations include all your address? What is most important?
Hi Stephen! Thank you for posting in Q&A! It looks like this question is very similar to this one you posted yesterday: https://moz.com/community/q/ranking-opportunity-if-we-omit-county-in-citations I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread to responses to keep the answers consolidated in that thread. Email me at mattr(at)moz(dot)com if you have any questions.

Home page keyword in url
Hello, thanks for your reply. The website I'm building for my client is actually a porn website ( Sorry if i'm not aloud to bring that up in these forums, but it is a professional business ). Now the video category pages and actual video pages will be mainly just 5 videos in each row. As users will not really be looking to read content. However because the site is different than usual sites, i was planning on putting content on the homepage to rank for the main keyword. Is this a suitable post? if not i will delete it.

How realistic is it to get to googles first page
Sounds like you will do fine. But as Deacyde and EGOL mention, be wary of over-doing things and getting penalized.

Will it be possible to point diff sitemap to same robots.txt file.
In your sitemap you only have to link to the pages on your site - there is no need to add a link to the robots.txt file. Your robots.txt is always on the root of the domain (yourdomain.com/robots.txt). In your robots.txt you can put the location of your sitemap(s) - just put the following line(s) at the end of the file. It is possible to add multiple lines if you have multiple sitemaps. Alternative would be to put a link to the index type of sitemap which contains the links to the different sitemaps you have. Sitemap: http://www.yourdomain.com/name_of_your_sitemap.xml It is not strictly necessary to add the link to the sitemap in your robots.txt - you can also just indicate the location in the Search Console (Google) / Web master tools (Bing) Dirk

What is the best citation management tool for small businesses?
Hi Mark, I'll be very glad if the info was helpful. That's interesting about BrightLocal ... I wasn't aware of that. Maybe Whitespark will be a better option. Good luck!

Moz page optimization score issue, have a score of 95, but can get to 99 if I ad my keyword basically twice in the url.
And we worked it out! In case anyone else has a similar question: When you pair a keyword to a page in the Page Grader tool—such as the page /laptop-bag/leather-shoulder/ paired with the keyword "leather shoulder laptop bag"—the tool will scan the page for exact instances of the phrase. So, even though the words "laptop," "bag," "leather," and "shoulder" are in the URL, the tool doesn't recognize the phrase "leather shoulder laptop bag," and so suggests adding it to the URL. If the URL is /laptop-bags/leather-shoulder-laptop-bags/, though, the tool _does _see the exact term, so it bumps up the score and removes the suggestion. In this case, though, Deacyde is totally right—/laptop-bags/leather-shoulder-laptop-bags/ is, well, kind of terrible. The thing to keep in mind is that a score of 100 in the tool means that the keyword for which it's evaluating the page is in _absolutely every _keyword optimization position. That doesn't always make sense, especially for a longer-tail term like "leather shoulder laptop bag." So in this instance, 95 is better than 99.

What are the best practices for geo-targeting by sub-folders?
I believe you can geotarget subfolders inside GSC, but you will need to set up each subfolder as a separate site inside GSC. Google has some tips here that might be of help. I would also consider using meta language tags as well.

Can hreflang tags still work when the Alternate URL is 301 redirecting to a translated URL in Japanese Characters?
Hi there, You should add in the hreflang annotation the final URL showing the content, not one that is just 301 redirecting to another. Are you seeing errors in the Google Search Console "International Targeting" report? If you see "no return tags" errors there for Japan, then means Google is not being able to identify them. Thanks!
