Views on PR - My complete U-Turn as of today...

Up until today I was anti PageRank, believing that it was a useless metric which just caused obsession and misplaced working effort... however, as of today I have done a complete u-turn and been shown how it is still useful as a trigger monitor type thing which is awesome.

Just wondering what others views were on this?

I've always thought it was something. Not everything, but how many public signals are there?  When I look on SEOMOZ at my list of strongest pages, the high page ranks are at the top, the mid PRs are in the middle etc.

Thanks, yeah the video says pretty much what I was thinking, that whilst PR isn't worth obsessing over, it is worth watching (i.e. as a sign of Google's reactions to stuff, such as penalties)... I stopped watching it all together about two years ago but it seems I need to start watching it again.
