We have a specific URL naming convention for 'city landing pages':

      .com/Burbank-CA

      .com/Boston-MA

      etc.

We use this naming convention almost exclisively as the URLs for links.  Our website had a code breakdown and all those URLs within that naming convention led to an error message on the website.  Will this impact our links?

Were you building inbound links to those pages?

If it was only down for a few days, it's likely that you won't lose any of the inbound links. If the links are still down you should probably create 301 redirects so that visitors don't hit a 404 page.

If there weren't any inbound links to those pages then you should be okay link-wise.

There were links to those pages, the pages went down for less than 24 hours, are now back up.

In that case I wouldn't worry about it. Most webmasters won't really check the outgoing links, and if they do, they certainly wouldn't do it every day.

Google is probably pretty lenient on this too, as they understand that occasional service outages occur. As long as your site was back up and running in a reasonable amount of time, you should be fine.
