      Hello,

I have a client who went out on their own and advertised on a site called lubylinks.com This site to me seems from an seo perspective not a very good site to advertise on. They have no content and just links to other sites. Im not sure what this type of site is called, so if you could let me know if you think this type of site is bad or good and also provide the name of this type of site that would be great.

      Thanks.

      Bill

This type of sites are usually referred to as link farms. The site is bad for seo because as you noted the site does not provide relevant content and value to searchers but only contain links that will be considered to be spam by search engines.

        Hope this helps

I was pretty sure it was called a link farm and I wanted to double check with the community. If for some reason im not able to get my client off from this type of site, is there a way to block this site from becoming a determent to my site.

As long as you have a natural looking link profile for the site this shouldn't cause any harm for your rankings. The only problem is the lost time and money spent on getting the spammy links. Just inform the client of why this type of link is useless (and Google and others are only getting better at detecting them over time) and maybe give them some helpful tips on what they -should- be doing instead.
