Q&A Forum Platform
-
We are working to create a Q&A forum on our site. We are trying to do some research into a possible 3rd party source or platform. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good Q&A platform? Are we better creating it in house?
What platform does SEOmoz use? This thing is fantastic

Hi
Yes, I've heard of http://qandaforums.com/ The guy who developed it is a host on the "Automate My Small Business" Podcast. I'm not sure if its available yet - last time I checked when you go to sign up, it says they're taking Beta testers.
But you can see it in action, as he has it going on the website for the Podcast at - http://ask.automatemysmallbusiness.com/
I was thinking of trying on a site of mine just for fun.

I must sound like a total fanboy at this point, but Drupal can do that pretty easily. I built adoptionexperts.org in a few days with it. Basically create a question content type, theme comments into answers, and then add flags for votes and you're pretty much done.

Might want to check out Bazaarvoice's Ask and Answer product. I haven't used this product but they are a pretty solid company to work with.

is it Public Q&A (accessible to all) , or Private Q&A (Some might call this Ticketing)
For Public Q&A, why not try the full fledged forum like phpbb ?

Thanks for all the replies guys. Super helpful.
Is SEOmoz's Q&A custom built?
