Which is more accurate? site: or GWT?
-
when viewing urls in google's index, is it more accurate to refer to site:www.domain.com or google webmaster tools (urls in web index)?

I would venture to say GWT for a few reasons:
- The site command doesn't always show everything,
- The site command is available publicly,
- The GWT has to be verified by the owner, hence they should show you more accurate data.

I agree with Steven on everything he said. Google has been putting a lot of emphasis on making sure SEO's are utilizing GWT as a resource for usability and correct data. I'd use that as your primary source.
