It's been there forever. How long does this take?

Hi there! Sometimes the issue is actually that the status doesn't get updated properly. But it can take quite a while to get through the queue as we get a lot of entries. All of them are gone through, researched to see if they've been published elsewhere, copy edited, etc.

Sorry it's taken a while to get to yours! I just checked it out and the idea is great. I'd love to see a screenshot or some kind of image in there to show what you're talking about. If you have an image or want to make some changes, send an email to editor at seomoz.org and we'll help you out.

        Again, sorry for the delay!

        Jen

Are we to assume that including our own images then would be helpful in getting an approval?

And yes, a simple rejection letter would be appreciated, since spending time on content and seeing it sit for awhile is painful.

          ... I know patience is a virtue.

All YouMOZ authors are heroes. These people take many precious hours away from consulting to share something awesome with the rest of us. SEOMoz should stop whatever they're doing, fix the limited editor functionality and enable communication with authors as a priority.

If a post is submitted and doesn't require editing, communication with the author, or any other changes, then yes it will get through the process faster. Often times it takes a post a while to get through because it's not 100% at a point where it can be published and it takes us time to manually go through and contact each author about updating and fixing their post.

Wow! That's impressive. 🙂 I should note that since we do get so many entries, we like to spread the love among the different authors. If all 4 of your posts get approved, we will space them out to let other authors in as well. Thanks!

Hi! I totally agree they YOUmoz authors deserve to get their posts through more quickly. But to be honest, there are only two of us (used to only be one) and we do our very best. 🙂 We manually review every post and work with authors to improve their posts. The quickest way to get through the queue is to have a post 100% ready to be published. Unfortunately this is often not the case. Also, we got many posts submitted that have already been published, which we have to take the time to research to make sure their unique. I understand how annoying it is to take so long to get through the queue, but I promise we're doing our best on our end to get the posts up.

Thanks for being so passionate about YOUmoz! We really love it. 🙂

Sorry Jeniffer. I didn't put four posts in order to monopolize the blog, but have a parameter of what you would like. It would be a pretense of mine, wanting my four articles were published. I also wrote, because I thought the experience could be useful to someone, and generated four because they are very different matters.

I know that you are extremely busy and should receive every day many good articles, even much better than mine, and it can not pay attention to everyone. In Brazil there are a lot of fans of SEOmoz. Congratulations on all the work you do.

I apologize for my previous post.

                      João

Hey Joao, please don't feel bad! I think it's great you've submitted 4 posts. It doesn't mean they won't be published, only that we try to space them out with other authors as well. 🙂 I look forward to reading them!

Absolutely. This is why it's so important that your guys fix the editor, is a real pain to work with and it doesn't even allow H tags for topical hierarchy.

I really tried to have my post entered as neatly as I could - that's a promise.

We completely understand that and expect to have to do some formatting changes. To me if the only thing I have to do is minor formatting that's 100% ready. 🙂 Agree about the editor though, it's being fixed as I type! It's super, super annoying.
