Content for links - diminishing value?
-
I'm offering content in return for contextual links to a number of website owners in my niche, and the up-take seems to be there. My concern is that the written piece generally won't be linked to from the homepage (i.e. blog post, featured article, etc), and so over time there's the risk that it will be lost deeper and deeper in the site's hierarchy. Is this a big issue given (I'm assuming) my content's value will diminish over time, etc. Most of the webmasters, are however happy for me to supply content sporadically. Ot is it still definitely worth progressing?
Thanks.

Well, don't forget that the age of the link means it gains some value too... so that would counter the issue (if it is an issue, I'm not all that sure). I would do it if I were you... the fact that they're in content and from different domains is great, and some of them might turn out to be awesome links if the sites do well

Thanks for the note Steve. Taking this a step further - is there a minimum Domain Authority of a site that I should be talking to, or do you share the view (with many) of 'a link is a link' - providing it's relevant, etc.

Yeah I would take it anyway... don't forget that just because it has zero authority now, doesn't mean it won't get some good authority later.
