When I look at the backlink history via Majestic SEO, I see a big jump beginning around the start of this month. Any chance you have been doing some serious link building? Without a sound link profile, Google may take issue with rapid increases in inbound links.

Furthermore, I see a lot of links from locations that don't appear to have much to do with Yoga. This isn't typically an issue unless those are the overwhelming majority of links you have.

Finally, you have a large number of links from low quality locations such as forums, linking services, article hosting, etc.

Any of the aforementioned points could result in Google dropping your site from the index. To paraphrase Rand Fishkin, "Stop getting links. Start earning links."

In other words, consider spending more time crafting valuable content and building your sphere of influence to attract authentic inbound links.

        Good luck.

Hmmm, I see what you are looking at. Thanks for the heads up on that tool. Somebody else in the company must have purchased links without telling the rest of us. I noticed it happened to some of our other sites as well and they were penalized by Google.

          How does one fix this?

We had RSS feeds put into all of our blogs that point to each other, is it possible this is creating the spike in links? Or would that show a consistent link increase.

Try to build more quality links, contact the sites where the paid links are and ask them to be removed.

When you are confident everything has been put right you can ask Google for a reconsideration. There are more details at http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=35843

              Hope this helps.

                Hi;

We had been working on quality links when an employee decided to secretly speed matters up it appears. Every single one of our sites has had a spike in links, but so far only the two have been penalized completely from Google. On other blogs, we had a huge drop in keyword rankings. Trying to figure out the randomness of penalties.

                  Hi,

You might want to look into your robots.txt file also.  As it is now, you are saying to all robots that they are not allow to access anything. II don't know why anyone has noticed it :

                  User-agent : *
                  Disallow :

Instead you should put this :

                  User-agent : *
                  Sitemap : http://www.dahnyogaarizona.com/sitemap.xml

                  Best regards,
                  Guillaume Voyer.

Thanks - I will have IT look into that. Can't imagine why the sites would stop working out of the blue when they have been functioning well for the past few years.

It appears nobody in our company purchased links, which makes me wonder if somebody who is out to sabotage us purchased really bad links so that our sites would become penalized. How does one track who would do this to you and how do you stop it?

We have no reason to purchase links as we pay lots of writers to provide quality content for us. This is very frustrating.

                        Hi,

You might want to fill a reconsideration request then :

                          Hey,

I see that your website is still out of Google's index but it does show up in Bing. I saw your website was using WordPress, so may be it was hacked and you might not know.

Did you look if you had any messages in your Google Webmaster Tools account?  Have your verified your website and submited a sitemap in it?

In case you don't know what is Google Webmaster Tools, you can find it there :
                          http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools

This place is used for Google to communicate with you if they have a problem with your website.  So if they found out it was hacked, you should have a message about that there.

                          Best regards,
                          Guillaume Voyer.
