Two redirects should be fine for Google but it's better to do just the one, if it's easy. Do check your internal links and make sure they are pointing to the new domain, not the old one.

(I recently did a domain name change and for two months traffic went down. But now, four months after the move, we are getting close to double the traffic compared to before the move, so don't give up yet!)

In general, you want to minimize chain redirects but two 301s shouldn't cause any issues for Google.

It used to be that you lost some rankings from 301 redirects but the latest Google rules say that is no longer the case. I prefer to err on the side of caution and remove as many redirects as possible.

I agree with Linda and Oleg. What you are doing is fine, but it is best to keep it as simple as possible. Every split second you can shave off is a bonus to the people visiting your site via old links.

Sad to say, sometimes it takes a bit for Google to "work it all out". One thing you need to check is to make sure the content on the original PageA is the same as where the user ends up on Page B or C. Link equity will not transfer if you are redirecting someone to a page where the content is substantially different. Good article here https://moz.com/blog/301-redirection-rules-for-seo

Thanks guys for the answers. I guess I just have to be more patient. Since last week, we are already moving up in the search results and hopefully in another month or two we will get back to the first page.
