Link from an app to a website?

I know someone who has a phone app and wants to put a link to my website in the app. Are there any SEO benefits from this at all or would it only be good for generating traffic?

If the app isnt accesses by search engine crawlers, then it would not have an SEO benefit.

Yet it would be beneficial for Traffic for sure.

If the app is also hosted on a website or mobile site it is beneficial for seo.
