Best way of including multiple years in titles

We're having a debate about the best way of rendering years in SEO terms.

We have a new report that covers both 2016 and into 2017.

To get the most juice should we title it:

XXX Report 2016-2017
XXX Report 2016/17
XXX Report 2016/2017
XXX Report 2016 and 2017

Which one is best read by Google?

From the perspective of search engines your examples would be virtually identical. The first one with the dash is the most common usage and easy to read.

Each year will be a unique term in each of your examples except that in your second example you wouldn't rank for "2017".

The characters you must avoid are the ampersand (&) and underscore (_) which will combine terms.
