Typical percentage of links found in Webmaster Tools but are not in Open Site Explorer?

50% of our links are found in Webmaster Tools but are not found in Open Site Explorer. Is this normal?  If these links are not indexed does that mean our DA will not grow as high as it could until they are crawled?

Hi there

Different sources pull different links and therefore don't always line up. You're not going to get a set % difference. It depends on the tool, their crawler, how often they update, and the current backlinks that are active and inactive.

Patrick pretty much nailed it. For one thing, Google's index is bigger than ours, as they have the resources to crawl a lot more, a lot faster. Our index also tends to focus on somewhat higher-authority links—the ones that will really count in your backlink profile.
