      Hi all,

The search function on my site is pretty bad... it basically lists every single product for any search query.

Has anyone got experience integrating a 3rd party tool such as Google Custom Search or Pardot and if so which would you recommend?

Alternatively, any tips on improving/ creating rules for site search would be appreciated.

      Thanks,

      Alick

Google custom search is really easy to implement. We purchased the first package I think $199 a year to prevent other competitors ads from showing up. I think it took me like 20 minutes to read and 2 minutes to instal.

Lets be honest there are not many people who can return as relevant results like Google.

Do you have the ability to set "Search Keywords" on a product level? not the meta keywords, just plain Search keywords? That would help the problem.

How about a search and filter plug in?

I believe that our search is already looking at the product titles and descriptions. The issue is that many of our products have similar names.

i.e. if a customer searches for whiteboards it triggers any product with the word board in its description.

The other issue is picking up similar phrases/ typos. I think Google Customer Search is the way to go.
