How can I negate traffic in analytics from urls within my site that do not contain www.
-
From within analytic dashboard I see a lot of urls that I are showing from a testing sub site/server. I have already negated IP addresses that are used by development team, but the team also works from home so I would like to know how to fully negate traffic from this "site".
www.mydomian.com vs stg.mydomain.com
I cannot remove the tracking script from this testing site because it gets mirrored into my production site after a new release.
Thanks for your help.

If you are using Google Analytics this is an easy fix but you will want to make a new view to test it on first.
All you need to do is create a filter to remove the stg.mydomain.com. Test to make sure you aren't removing legitimate data, but this is a pretty quick fix.

Just like this?

I would select custom filter and hostname.

Thank You, I will test this right now.

After taking these steps will the analytics data retroactively update to reflect these changes/filters?

No, GA never retroactively adjusts data, a filter is considered a day forward change affecting only new incoming data.
