Footer iframe link

Any idea why someone would put a sitewide non-clickable one pixel wide link within an iframe in the footer to a linkedin profile?  It has thrown me.

it is a method they are using to track you hear some information on LinkedIn using  What you've described

let me know if this is of help to you but I believe passing recorded data is the complete reason for this.
