      Hi

Great community and hope you guys can help!

I have just started on a SEO project for http://bit.ly/clientsite , the clients required initial KPI is Search Engine Rankings at a fairly low budget. The term I use for the site is a "blurb site", the content is thin and the initial strategy I want to employ to get the keyword rankings is to utilize content.

      The plan is to:

      • add targeted, quality (user experience & useful) and SEO content on the page itself by adding a "read more" link/button to the "blurb" on the right of the page (see pink text in image)
      • when someone clicks on the "read more", a box of content will slide out styled much the same as the blurb itself and appear next to and/or overlay over the blurb and most of the page (see pink rectangle in image)

      Question:

      1. Is this layer of targeted , quality (user experience & useful) and SEO content (which requires an extra click to get to it) going to get the same SEO power/value as if it were displayed traditionally on the initial display?
      2. If not, would it be better to create a second page (2nd layer) and have the read more link to that and then rel-canonical the blurb to that 2nd page, so that all the SEO passes to this expanded content and the second page/layer is what will show up in the rankings?

      Thanks in advance

Is the content that will be added readable? Looking in SEO browser, it doesnt seem that it is. Check out the report here:

        http://seo-browser.com/index.php?address=http%3A%2F%2Fdeepdesign.co.za%2Fprint-printer-printing%2F&button0.x=68&button0.y=15&button0=Simple

If the content cannot be read by a search engine, any content you add will no have any effect on your rankings.

The boxes that slide out (if your plan is to retain that design), should link to sub pages of focused, relevant content.

I think you should also take a very close look at the way the pages/URL's are set up.
        print-printer-printing/
with a page title of "PRINT, PRINTER, PRINTING! | DEEPDESIGN"

Very spammy, and even if Google allows it to rank I doubt a user would be compelled to click that result out of one that states something like "Graphic Design and Printing Services -YOURCOMPANY"

I would look at all aspects of the site, even if their budget is low. Doing SEO work just for the sake of getting paid will not get the company the results they are looking for. I would check the template to see what is readable text, then focus your efforts on cleaning up the on page and off page SEO.

        • Hi Everybody. I have a large site that is made up of the main site then a large support site. The support site has a lot of overlapping content and similar titles. Would it be beneficial to separate the two? Thank you. All answers appreciated.
