Are you allowed to 301 redirect the clickable link in your youtube video to an affiliate site?

Hi, I don't understand how you can do a 301 redirect on a YouTube video because the YouTube video is hosted on YouTube not on your web server where you would have the authority to create a 301 redirect.

Maybe I am missing something here but I am not really clear on what you are asking. Where have you picked up this idea from?

Do you mean the link in the description? Or the overlays if you're partner?

I don't see any reason why you can't put a 301 on either, but why not just link to the actual site itself?
