1. Is this legal on them to extract data from other sites like this?

The term is "data mining"AKA (Web scraping (web harvesting or web data extraction) and it is only the government which is forbidden from doing this through the Privacy Act. Credit agencies do this with financial information, they collect it and sell it. I can collect information of any kind from any place and use it any way I want to. All it has to be is true information. I can not collect false information and use that to slander or libel for example. There are no limits on private business about data mining. Look at the phone companies. They keep a record of EVERY call you make or receive, and recently the shrub, Dubya, signed a bill which makes the phone companies immune from prosecution for releasing that information to Dubya and Co without a search warrant.

2. What means do they do this? manual or automated

Most hacks are automated today however more secure sites that get hacked are done manually

3. How can we restrict this?

It is virtually impossible you can get a fantastic post that uses a very secure server.

So these 2 sites pulling data from mine and other sites is illegal?

No who ever put them in your site code if you can't find them & you link out to them

How can that be my site is hacked for them to just pull data and show on the page?

I thought you meant you were being hacked and I listed very secure very fast WordPress hosting

4. Would this be a good for us or not?

What is meant was is this good for us in any ranking factors or should we go ahead and ask those sites to remove us from there listing? Would this be wrong in Goggle's eye?
