Has anyone else noticed Google rank changes about mid-June? A second round update to Penguin 2.0?
-
Been tracking some keywords rankings for the past year WOW. Especially with the (then impending now live) Penguin 2.0 update, it seemed relevant to track the weeks leading up to and the weeks following to see any affects in the rankings. As expected, there were some drastic upward and downward movement for rankings pulled on 5/22 which had remedied themselves and leveled off in the immediate following weeks. However, I've been seeing some funny results mid June as well that would indicate to me another version or update was released. Curious if anyone else has also experienced this or knows of an 2.0 adjustment that may have gone live about that time?

Yes it seems that sites which are keyword stuffed and purely optimised or not been updated in a year seem to have increased in the ranks where sites which where strong dropped big time... Think this updates gone a little wrong!!!

Take a look at MozCast: http://mozcast.com/ It indicates the potential of something major happening yesterday or perhaps in the days leading up to yesterday. I've been looking at Mozcast for almost a year now (since it was released at MozCon last year) and I don't recall ever seeing it this hot.
Perhaps Dr. Pete can chime in with his take on the buzz that's causing MozCast to register such a hot temp.

I should have checked the Moz Blog for posting. Dr. Pete has already commented here: http://moz.com/blog/early-look-at-googles-june-25-algo-update
Thanks Dr. Pete!

I also saw this trend for couple of sites. The sites which have been authority sites and were ranking for almost decades have gone down. Some sites surprisingly which had duplicate content can now be seen at the top. I even reported to Google about such sites, but since I reported, they seem to have gone up more.

yep I have noticed this as well I reported a link directory full of spam and its seems to have gone up 3 positions. I am going to keep an eye on it.
