Keyword in alt text or keyword in the body?

lets say i have 2 percent keyword density in the whole page and another 2 percent are coming from alt texts from images? is that 4 percent, am i exceeding the limit or its fine?

Search engines are smart enough to distinguish between content and alt texts. Typically alt texts are used for indexing images. I don't believe that would count toward your content keyword count, but it could also be a signal toward page relevance.

You lost me at "keyword density".
Alt text should describe the image as if explaining it, as succinctly as possible, to a blind person. If you can get your keyword in there without being weird about it, great. If not, describe the image and move on.
There is no "limit" to exceed. And Welderpro is... not correct about having a word in alt text and in the body being a bad thing.
Write the content for the user and stop worrying about this stuff. You'll be a much better SEO in the end.
