      Hi all,

We received a deceptive site warning from Google recently. Seems like there is a deceptive content on some pages of the website. Some pages are removed from Google index. Meta descriptions have been deployed on the site few days ago. There is also java script on the website which we use for tracking visitors like GA. I wonder what's the reason for this alert? We believe its due to the Java script. Do you think meta descriptions will harm this bad? Any ideas?

      Thanks

We are going to need more information to help. Can you provide the site/page with the error? Can you provide a screenshot of the error? I doubt it is the meta description unless you're doing something really strange with them. I recommend that you read this:

        https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6350487?hl=en

"Social engineering is content that tricks visitors into doing something dangerous, such as revealing confidential information or downloading software. If Google detects that your website contains social engineering content, the Chrome browser may display a "Deceptive site ahead" warning when visitors view your site. You can check if any pages on your site are suspected of containing social engineering attacks by visiting the Security Issues report."

We found that Google is treating their own code (GA tracking code) as a deceptive content and we reported with a review request. The warning has been removed from our pages.

Wow, that's just ridiculous. I'm glad you figured it out though.
