i am getting a lot of links from wallpapers sites.. One person has created 1000's of similar sites that are linking back to my images.

My guess is images do not pass link value positive or negative. But I am not sure what the potential effects would be.

Does anyone know who linking to images might effect SEO especially when there coming from horribly low quality auto generated sites.

        Hi Ken,

The algorithm is smart enough to know those links you're talking about are from a spam site, and more than likely you won't have to worry about them. If you feel up to it, however, Google has a tool you can use to disavow links you believe may be harming your site's ranking, You can upload a whole file worth of links too if you need to.

          Hi Ken,

Chris has pointed you in the right direction if I were in your place I won't take a chance with spammy links and disavow them.

          Regards,

          Vijay

Your gtg for the most part when it comes to images. In Rand's Image SEO White Board Friday, he states images are graded for SEO on a more traditional style. So if it gets tossed around and embedded hundreds of times in bad web property neighborhoods all is well, for the time being at least! 😛

            • We're looking at providing SEO for a website that has the majority of its incoming links from websites created solely to provide links. Few have bad spam rankings. How worried should I be about those links?
