I believe the surrounding words to a "keyword" are called co-occurences and I was wondering if there a a software that can tell me which word(s) go around a specific word (before or after).

      Thank you,

Ya definitely. Best thing to use for this is a free tool called SEO Quake. Goto a page with the ranking keyword or a place of discussion regarding the keyword like Quora, and right click anywhere on the page. Under the SEO quake tab select density. It will show you 1, 2, 3, and 4 word frequencies on that page. Those would be the words surrounding your target keyword that are most relevant to it.

Thank you for the tip but doesn't the keyword explorez from moz give you that info also ? or do moz only give you the "main" keyword ? I just want to confirm. How about ubbersuggest or lsigraph can they be used toe find the words surrounding a keyword ( in  other words do they do similar things as  SEO Quake) ?

MoZ certainly has a keyword suggestion tool, however it is in my experience that it essentially provides numerous variables of the same focused query which is good, however wasn't the answer to the specifics of the question you were asking. The density just seemed at least  to me the best way to succeed in pulling the best runner up that isn't directly tied in to the target phrase.

There are definitely numerous tools out there and they all have different angles and approaches that can prove effective. I definitely wouldn't stay with one but rather bounce around and utilize as many as possible.

              Hello there,

If I understand correctly you want to know the cloud of keywords, and the first thing that comes up to my mind is Ahrefs Keyword explorer. It shows you keywords that are similar or related to your keywords, there's also a beta features that try to tell what is the parent topic (keyword).

Take a look at the screenshot, I wanted know keyword that surrounding "coffee machine" it then shows me thousands of other similar keywords and its parent topic "coffee maker"

You can also check out the "organic keyword" from the top ranking results of a keyword to see what keyword they're also ranking for, so you get an idea of similar keywords.

Ahref isn't free but you can try out with the trial which cost you much less.

              Regards,
              Joseph Yap
