How to Migrate MOZ Campaign When Domain Changes?
-
I have used MOZ for 4 years. We have migrated our domain, no longer using the old domain name. If I understand properly I need to set up a new campaign for the migrated URL. Is there a way of doing this without losing the data for the last 4 years?
What is the easiest and fast way of doing this?
Thanks,
Alan -
You'll probably want confirmation from moz. But I don't think you can transfer data to a new campaign.

Hi Andrew:
Do you know if there is any way to save the data? It is for the same corporate website, shame to lose the data solely due to a domain change.
Also, is there anyway to copy the setting (keywords etcetera) to the campaign for the new Domain name?
Thanks!

This is from the Q and A
Q. Can I change the domain later?
A. You cannot change the domain of a campaign once it is created. If you need to track content, rankings, etc. on a new subdomain or domain, you must create a new campaign. Don’t panic – archiving and adding campaigns is easy. You can archive the old campaign

On the 'manage campaigns' page. Click the setting cog on the right of the campaign.
Then click archive

MOZ - That's terrible. Is this on the roadmap? Companies change their domains as their business evolves. MOZ should support updating the domain even if it's via a new campaign with all the data copied.

Hi there Joel!
This is not currently on the roadmap, however I have passed along your feedback to our development team so that we can consider this when we are reviewing future changes and implementations to the tools.
Let us know if we can help with anything else!
