      Hi guys;

      In a website with more than 20,000 indexed pages, Is it normally that homepage (root) didn't have any internal links, while other important pages have enough internal links?

      Consider that in a top menu in header of all pages, I added homepage link, so the home page link repeated on all indexed pages, but google didn't count it

      and the website technology is angular js

      thank you for helping me

        Hello Cafegardesh,

        Nope, its not OK to not have any internal links in any page, specially the homepage.

        How do you interact with the homepage if it dont have any internal link?
        Usually, the home page has a menu that adds those internal links you are referring, or a footer that might acomplish the same purpose.

        Why you say that Google did not count the link to the homepage? What were you expecting, a bump in traffic, better rankings or something like that?

        Also, the technology used to build the web is not a problem here.

        If im not answering what you've asker, please respond with more info and i'd help you out

        GR

          Hi Cafegardesh

          The standard way of doing this is to link through the logo which will have the Alt text of the website name. Better all round than having a link saying 'Home'. Either way, it is essential you have this - your home page should naturally be the most linked page on the site.

          Regards

          Nigel

          • How necessary is it to disavow links in 2017? Doesn't Google's algorithm take care of determining what it will count or not?

          • Pagination and View All Pages Question. We currently don't have a canonical tag pointing to View all as I don't believe it's a good user experience so how best we deal with this.
