Google Page Insights - Image Optimization Help
-
are recommending that I optimize images, which they then provide you with the optimized images for my site. However, when I use the recommended images, I still am showing a poor page speed score and I'm being told to optimize the images. Please advise

Super frustrating!
Hard to say what the exact issue is without a link to the page you are trying to optimize. Could be a cacheing issue if you are testing before images have propagated. More likely, there may be other background images on the page that are still getting flagged. Also, don't let this automated checker replace common sense, they are combing and automatically throwing out suggestions - if you have compressed an image per their guidelines: https://developers.google.com/web/fundamentals/performance/optimizing-content-efficiency/image-optimization
then start to focus on the other low hanging fruit if you know that image is already optimized (usually they will call out your JS loading - Google Tag Manager GTM can help with some of this). You can also use this tool from Pingdom for page speed suggestions: https://tools.pingdom.com/
And if you are serious about performance, look at New Relic for the actual performance stats on the server side for your web app.GL!

This usually means that they want you to decrease the image file size so that your website can load faster. An easy way to do this is to use the handy tool at https://www.fixpicture.org/. Simply upload an image from a file on your computer, keep the quality as "good" or "better" and then take the new decreased picture file and replace the current photo on your website with the new decreased file size one on on your website. The best way to do this for a lot of pictures is through FTP Access, but you can do it manually in Wordpress or whatever type of website you have.

Thanks, George. I don't think it's a cacheing issue, I recently installed WPFastestCache to help with that. Thanks for the Pingdom Reference--now I'm confused because I'm getting a 97 grade from them but still an 89 from GTMetrix, which directs me to Google Page Insights, which still grades me at an F for image optimization, which I think I've addressed. I'm an SEO newbie so I want to be sure I get this fixed because it is most significant issue showing up in my tests.
Here is a link to the site http://vujadaydigital.com/
Thanks!

Thanks! Google Page Insights gives you optimized images, which I've used but still get the bad grade and it says they're not optimized...Perhaps I'll use fix pic with one or two images to see if that fixes the issue
