Press Release Distribution

I'm doing research on the best distribution service to use and I came across this distribution service, http://www.onlineprnews.com/, which is considerably cheaper than prweb's standard level press release (I would be using the Search Engine Visibility package). Is it worth it for me to spend more on prweb? It seems like this site is very highly rated.

In general, would prweb be my best choice? Also, what do you think about the premium packages with the press releases? Is it really worth it to spend more to get more... (fill in the blanks).

The links from the press releases themselves don't carry a lot of link value, although PRWeb has higher domain authority so might give you a slightly bigger boost.

The key is to get your press release picked up by high authority news sites and blogs, which requires having a newsworthy or interesting angle.  If your piece is really newsworthy, it can be more effective to e-mail newspapers directly.  Most new sites have a "tips" section where readers can submit news.  I've had some success directly e-mailing local newspapers with tips.

A caution that for at least some of the sites listed by topseos.com the sites included in the ratings need to pay to be in that list.
